Small but mighty, Tommy's Italian Restaurant is a casual bistro with exposed high ceilings, a charming grape arbor, warm terra cotta walls and faux marble-top tables.
Complementary parmesan pesto-infused olive oil with warm, crusty Italian bread is dangerously delicious. The fried Calamari appetizer is perfectly seasoned and crisp, and juicy Clams Oreganata shout the praises of fresh ocean essence. The Caesar salad is extremely fresh with a tangy dressing and large slivers of parmesan liberally sprinkled on top. In a word, the entrees are excellent! Al dente Rigatoni dotted with Broccoli in roasted garlic stock, a delicately crusted, roasted Sea Bass on sauteed fresh spinach, a pounded Rib Pork Chop topped with plum tomatoes and red onions, expertly cooked prime Filet Mignon crowned with roasted peppers, onions and mushrooms on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes . . . all excellent!
Pair your choice with a nice wine from the reasonably priced list. Desserts, like the Magic Cube, a treat with a layer of chocolate cake topped with chocolate and vanilla mousse, all draped in dark chocolate, and a trio of miniature Cream Puffs dusted with confectioners'' sugar, dripping with chocolate sauce, are sinfully delicious. With their friendly wait staff, eating at Tommy''s is like spending an evening at a thoughtful and caring friend''s home, where you''re always welcome. Portions from The Sun Sentinel
