HINT: Eat your Dessert FIRST! You don’t want to miss out on the fabulous homemade desserts at King’s Diner! The ones we chose were absolutely delicious! The Napoleon was INCREDIBLE with the flakiest pastry filled with smooth creamy filling and drizzled with dark chocolate…YUM! Their homemade puddings are excellent as well…we tried the bread pudding and rice pudding…both creamy and flavorful. King’s has something for everyone. They feature homemade meals “like mom used to make” and you can also find Italian, Greek, Latin, Seafood and Deli selections. They have a Chef’s Choice menu that includes Soup or Salad, Entrée, Potato, Veggies, Beverage and Dessert priced from $9.99. Although we could not use the SFD certificate, the prices and selection were so great that we just decided to keep the certificate for another visit. For our main courses we chose Corned Beef and Cabbage, Meatloaf and BBQ Ribs. Since their name had BBQ in it, we thought we just had to try them. The Matzo Ball soup was quite tasty with a huge matzo ball in chicken broth with veggies. Their house salad is full of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and olives and although they have no ‘house’ dressing, their balsamic vinaigrette was delicious. The main course came out and we were amazed at the heaping portions they serve for such low prices. The corned beef was very tender and arrived with potato, carrots, celery and cabbage beautifully presented on the plate with carrot curls garnish. The meatloaf dinner had three huge slices of meatloaf smothered in rich gravy and topped with deliciously crisp onion strings and served with REAL mashed potatoes and veggie medley (broccoli, cauliflower, red peppers, carrots, green beans). Their ribs are very tender and the BBQ sauce is a very tasty sweet & tangy type. The BBQ meal also came with the veggie medley and choice of potato (Baked Potato was perfect). Fresh and tasty Challah bread is served on the table. The portions are HUGE and we took home boxes of leftovers to leave room for our dessert. Beverages were included and they do serve great “Arnold Palmer’s”. The décor is comfortable and the service is attentive and friendly. They just recently opened, but based on this visit we feel they will do very well if they continue to serve such great meals at affordable prices.
